A Japanese completes the marathon after her leg has been broken
Japan's return to "exotic" and "spectacular" events, and in Japan's annual marathon last week, the race was not a "startling" story of determination and dedication.
A top-ranked contestant in Japan's annual Princess Aikden marathon, when she was broken in the foot, did not stop her from finishing the race.
The contestant Ri Ida broke her leg after stumbling in the middle of a marathon that ran 7.2 km for the ladies before the race completed a knee crawl, amidst everyone's surprise, The Sun reported.
Ida stopped crawling when she handed over her relay stick, thus completing her mission in the team, after a 300-meter run.
Japanese media said the team's manager heard the sound of a break in Ida's foot, prompting him to announce the team's withdrawal from the race to the Organizing Committee, but the decision to withdraw did not reach the runners who completed the race.
Despite the loss of Ida and her team for the marathon relay, she won the admiration of everyone, and her story published by the international media became an example of "determination" in sport.
