This is why she decided to move to another city even though she had many friends and career opportunities at home. In 2015, she went on a soul-searching journey before she decided to make it happen. She relocated to begin a new chapter of her life. Luckily, she got a job offer that coincided with what she wanted to do. She then moved to Denver, Colorado and went into the field of commercial construction. Officially, she was the integrated service manager for the construction company GE Johnson.

What is even more amazing is that she wanted to renovate it on her own. “The house I bought would require extensive work to transform into my vision and most of which I would have to do myself in order to afford it,” she explained. She told her friend that it was going to be meant for ‘more’, but what did that mean for her?

If you want to renovate your house, you are going to have to spend some money. She worked on the house on her own for this very reason. She hoped that it would keep her occupied and focused while she got her life in order. However, living in such a significant place on her own made her feel like something was missing. The marriage was over, but this did not mean that she was out of options. Upon realizing this, she began to dig into the options that she still had seriously.

During an interview, Katie explained, “During all of the phone calls I made that afternoon, the phrase ‘I know I am crazy, but God is telling me to say YES’ kept coming out of my mouth.” Was she going to do it?

She could not help but feel both overwhelmed and scared. However, her gut told her it was time to open up her heart and take the baby in. It only took a couple of hours before Hannah was brought to her home from the hospital. This was the first time she and Grayson met the little girl.

The woman explained that she once gave birth to a little boy, although she gave him up without records. There was also the fact that she looked just like Grayson did! There was no room for doubt now.

Katie asked her a couple more questions and found out that she had a few children already. She also gave birth to another boy, although she did not report this to the authorities. After this, Katie informed the social worker about what she found out. Eventually, they confirmed that the last name the biological mother used was linked to the other relatives of Hannah.

At long last, they were finally getting somewhere with this mystery. However, they still needed to do one more thing if they wanted to confirm their theory. The results of the DNA test came back and told them what they suspected: Hannah and Grayson were half-siblings!
