Apple unveils patent for "unprecedented"
Apple, the maker of iPhones, recently won a second patent for a retractable phone, while rival Samsung confirmed earlier that it would launch a device as such soon.
According to the Forbes website, the patent, developed by the technology leader and presented at Patently Apple, spoke of a device that includes a flexible part other than phones currently available in the market and that the phone will be open and close, such as books.
Apple is seeking to bring revolutionary advantages to its future devices, especially since the iPhone, which was unveiled in September, has been criticized for its "modest, normal" features that have not surprised the tech community.
In addition, screen size is one of the important criteria for smart phone differentiation, as well as deleting the edges around the interface.
In September, Huawei's chief executive, Richard Yu, said in an interview with the German newspaper The Bild that the company's folding phone would probably be ready within one year.
