China confirms arrest of Interpol chief

Chinese authorities have not identified corruption cases in which Ming is accused

Chinese authorities have arrested Interpol chief Ming Hongwei, who is under investigation by the anti-corruption body on suspicion of violating the law.

Ming is a deputy minister in charge of public security in China.
He disappeared after traveling to China from the French city of Lyon, home to Interpol.
His family has not heard anything since 25 September.
China's National Monitoring Commission on Corruption Issues issued a statement on its website saying Ming is under investigation.
Ming is added to the list of prominent figures who disappeared in China in recent years, including state officials, rich and famous.
The actress, Fan Bingbing, disappeared in July, then appeared last week, wrote an apology and fined 129 million dollars for tax evasion.
What did the wife of the head of Interpol say?
Ming's wife appealed to the international community to help her find her husband, she feared that his event was hated.
On the day of his disappearance, he sent a message on social networking sites saying "Wait for me" before sending the symbol "Imogi" with a knife, which means danger.
She read the statement in Chinese and English as she turned her back on the camera for fear of her life.
