"Orange cloud" threatens diseases in Turkey


A cloud of dusty orange clouds has been sweeping large areas of northeastern Turkey for days, causing traffic disruptions and warning of possible diseases.
The Turkish newspaper Hurriyet published a series of pictures on Thursday that showed a large number of trucks in Anatolia, flooded with mud, because of the rain that coincided with the wave of dust.

The newspaper said, quoting the Turkish Meteorological Agency, that the wave of dust from the Sahara in the Arabian Peninsula and Iran by some of the dust storms occurring in these areas at this time of the year.

According to weather forecasts, the sand clouds are likely to continue until the end of this week and are now moving towards the western regions of Turkey, prompting some parents not to let their children go to school.
