Dozens of dead and injured in a train coup in Taiwan

At least 17 people were killed Sunday after a train derailed and overturned in Taiwan, the authorities said.
The Taiwan Railway Administration confirmed the number of casualties and said more than 70 people were injured in the accident in the northeastern province of Yilan.

At least five vehicles were seen on their side at the scene, AFP reported.

The images from the scene showed that the high-speed Bojuma train was derailed and trailed on the rails.

Taiwan authorities said the incident occurred at 4:50 pm local time (08:50 GMT), without indicating its reasons.
