Moscow rejects Washington's accusation of Russian women

A Russian diplomat said the US claim that a Russian woman helped oversee social media efforts to influence US midterm elections was shameful.
Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov made the remarks in a statement Saturday, a day after the US prosecution filed a criminal complaint against Elena Khosinova.

The complaint says it has helped oversee the funding of an electronic battalion aimed at influencing US policy through publications on social media.

The operation is one of a number of operations this year that have been indicted in the 2016 election.

"Washington, after spreading false lies about the 'fake hand of Moscow' for more than two years, is now trying to play with the same card before the American election day approaches," Ryabkov said.
