The French duo leads Manchester United to victory
Frenchman Paul Pogba and Antony Marcial scored twice to give Manchester United a 2-1 win at home to Everton in the Premier League on Sunday.
The win, which restored confidence to United after losing to Juventus in the Champions League last week, helped coach Jose Mourinho advance over Everton to eighth but is still nine points behind leaders Liverpool.
United took the lead in the 27th minute when referee Jonathan Moss scored a penalty against Edrissa Joey after an intervention against Marciel and the replay showed that the Senegalese midfielder had legally removed the ball.
Pogba executed the penalty, but goalkeeper Jordan Beckford blocked it, to bounce back to the French player, who put it in the goal easily.
4 minutes into the second half, United doubled their lead when Pogba resisted the temptation to shoot from the edge of the box and passed on to Marciel, who beat Beckford with a superb shot in the far corner.
But Bogba made a mistake as the ball went into midfield to go to Gilfy Sigurdsson, who passed it to Richelson to drop inside the box after Chris Smoling's intervention.
