After its acquittal of "blasphemy" .. the mystery wraps the fate of Pakistani Asia

The mystery of the fate of Pakistan's Christian Asi Bibi, who has been acquitted after eight years in prison awaiting the death penalty for blasphemy, is threatened by threats by extremists demanding her death.
While local media reported that Bibi left Pakistan, after the European Parliament made a presentation to protect her family, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry announced that she was still in Pakistan after being flown out of Multan where she was imprisoned.

The Associated Press quoted officials as saying they knew where she was and that she was staying with her family under tight guard on Thursday after being transferred to Islamabad under cover of darkness from her cell in southern Punjab last night.

This comes as the Pakistani authorities are not aware of the whereabouts of Bibi because radical Islamists are demanding the killing.

Islamist parties vowed to take to the streets of Karachi later on Thursday to protest their acquittal. Mass demonstrations are expected after news of her release.

After protests condemning her acquittal last week, the government signed an agreement with the Islamists forbidding it from traveling, and not objecting to a challenge to the Supreme Court.
