The gunman who killed two women and wounded five others at a yoga lounge in Florida before his suicide was charged with molesting girls, police said.
The authorities said they did not know why the 40-year-old Scott Pearl was fired on Friday afternoon after pretending to want to join yoga classes at the Tallahassee Hot Yoga Hall.
Police inspectors investigate any links between him and the victims.
Authorities said the two dead women were a 21-year-old university student and a 61-year-old faculty member at Florida State University.
Perle, a graduate of Florida State University, served in the military, and authorities in the Tallahassee region called him more than once "in relation to harassment of girls," the police said.
Perle was staying at a local hotel at the time of the attack and investigators also searched his home in Deltona, Florida, more than 322 kilometers southeast of Tallahassee, it said in a statement.
A newspaper revealed that the police records showed that he was arrested in 2012 and 2016 on charges of molesting women. Both cases were dismissed.
