Boshra for lung patients .. A new recipe for treatment

A Hungarian doctor advised a new type of physical and spiritual treatment of lung diseases, which is mass singing in public.
Last spring, the Prithing for the Soul, which was founded last spring, presented its second show on Thursday at the dance floor of a Budapest hotel.

The band members, many of whom have chronic pulmonary embolism and have come from hospitals across Hungary, confirm that singing has contributed to improving their quality of life.

"I did not imagine in my life that I could sing," said Maria Arani, 74, who has been suffering from asthma for 10 years. After singing, I noticed that I could breathe more easily.

Many lung patients suffer from loneliness in their daily lives, and mass singing helps them gain new friends.

Dr. Katalin Vardi came to the idea of forming the band, after learning that similar patients in other countries benefited from singing.

Orchestra leader Giorgi Philippe chose the songs to show the abilities of the patients, and explained that the concert was a huge challenge for those who had not previously sang on stage.

"We chose songs to enable patients to perform longer lines and harder tones and could develop through this system," he said.
