Mark Zuckerberg: I will not give up

In an interview with CNN, Facebook founder and chief executive Mark Zuckerberg responded to questions about the future management of the company after recent problems.
The US billionaire said the company's management would not change and that he would not step down from running the company, despite the company's recent criticism.

Mr Zuckerberg faced fresh pressure when a group of young Democratic senators asked for news reports that the firm had used contractors to respond to critics of privacy practices and the company's efforts to thwart Russian propaganda on its network.

Zuckerberg said in the interview that the company's operations manager, Cheryl Sandberg, would continue to serve as "an important part of Facebook."

Zuckerberg insisted that Zuckerberg would remain in charge of the company and that the waiver is unlikely now that some shareholders have asked him to resign.

"This is not the plan (to give up the presidency of Facebook), I do not see the logic," Zuckerberg said.

Facebook shares fell 3 percent on Friday to $ 139.53, the lowest level since April 2017.

The wealth of Zuckerberg, which has now reached $ 55.3 billion, has fallen more than $ 31 billion from its peak on July 25.
