River Plate lose coach before "historic final"

Argentina's River Plate coach Marcelo Gallardo is missing the Copa Libertadores' historic final against Boca Juniors in a decision by the Confederation of South America.
The club decided to stop Gayardo 4 matches and fined him $ 50,000 for "failing to respect a previous penalty" and thus could not lead his team in the final.

The former Argentine player has been banned from entering the dressing room between the two matches against Gremio in the semi-final of the continental championship on Tuesday.

"It was not a provocative act by me, it was just an emotional reaction," Gallardo said.

Gremio made a protest with the continental union, asking him to win a 3-0 win in the match (1-2), but the South American Football Federation rejected his request.

Gallardo was banned from entering the dressing room in the return leg against Gremio after his team was delayed returning to the pitch early in the second half of the first leg.

Under the decision of the South American Football Federation, Gallardo will not be able to enter the Bonbonera stadium during the final round on 10 November and the team's Monomontal stadium on the 24th leg.

This is the first time that the final of the Libertadores Cup has been played between Argentine giants who play the Super Classico in their home league, while they have already met in previous rounds in the quarterfinals in 2015 when River Plate continued to win the title. The third in the parallel championship of the Champions League.
