Rooney .. "captain" of the England team soon

LONDON (Reuters) - England striker Wayne Rooney will be captain of the United States only once when he meets his US counterpart in a charity match at Wembley on November 15, British media reported on Sunday.
Rooney announced his retirement from international football in August 2017 after winning 119 international caps, scoring 53 goals (local record).

The match will be a tribute to the "golden boy" of English football and former Manchester United.

The English Premier League has agreed with Rooney to play the game after long talks between the two sides. "This game will give English fans a chance to bid farewell to their favorite player, while the match will give money to charities," the press reported.
