Swimmer enters history with "157 days connected in water"

A British adventurer has managed to achieve a new record by swimming continuously for more than 5 months on the mainland of the United Kingdom.
The 33-year-old Ross Eddie, 33, had a distance of about 3,000 kilometers in 157 days spent at sea, before setting foot on Sunday, suffering from severe fatigue, the Guardian reported Monday.

Edgley set off from Margit Harbor on June 1 and said he faced several difficulties during swimming, including bites of jellyfish, waves and large cargo ships.

Edgley, whose beard and head hair grew thickly during his journey, complained that his tongue had been cracked by saline water and that some ulcers had appeared in his neck.

Edgley entered the Guinness Book of Records more than once, climbing the Everest rope and dragging a cargo car through a marathon.
