The deadliest death toll in California


The Camp Fire toll, the deadliest and most powerful fire in California's history, has risen to 81 with two bodies found.
The number of missing persons was 870 because of the chaos in the search for bodies in the city of Paradise, which destroyed a large part of the fire.

The number reached 1276 Saturday and slipped to 699 Monday.


The fire, which has hit 61,500 hectares and 12,600 homes since Nov. 8 in the north of the state, has now been contained at 75 percent.

Three other people died in a second major fire in Malibu, southern California.

Officials are preparing for heavy rains on Wednesday or later in the week, which will help extinguish the fire, but may also cause floods and floods.

US President Donald Trump visited Paradise on Saturday to inspect the damage.
