River wins Libertadores Cup title

The Argentinian River Plate won the Libertadores Cup with a 3-1 victory over Boca Juniors after extra time in the return leg in Madrid.
Boca Juniors had a goal just before the break and kept up the lead until the middle of the second half when River Plate managed to score a draw.

The result continued until the end of the original time with a draw for each team, the extension of the meeting for two more, the first of which ended in a draw.

In the final half, River Plate managed to score two goals to clinch a 3-0 win to seal their fourth continental title and deny their neighbors and rivals Boca Juniors the equivalent of a record seven-time title for Independiente.

River 5-3 won the overall score.

With the victory of the Super Clasico River Plate returned to the podium in the Copa Libertadores after two years, and added a fourth title after having won the Cup in 86, 96 and 2015.

The River is eligible to play at the Club World Cup in the UAE, where the team starts their semi-final on December 18, where they will face the winner from Esperance, Al Ain, or Wellington, New Zealand.
