The window of a Turkish plane "cracks in the air" and forces it to land
A Turkish Airlines plane carrying about 240 passengers was forced to land after a crack in the cockpit window.
Flight TK706, flying from Istanbul to the Afghan capital of Kabul, landed in the Turkish Black Sea city of Trabzon after the cockpit window cracked as it flew over Turkmenistan.
The two pilots landed at the city's airport at 6:20 am local time (0620 GMT), the newspaper "Hurriyet" quoted the governor of Trabzon as saying. No casualties were reported among the passengers and crew.
Local media reported that Afghan Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Idriss Zaman was among the 239 passengers.
Turkish Airlines sent another passenger plane to Kabul where the window of the Airbus A330-300 was fixed.
