After more than a century of Titanic sinking, another version of the giant ship is sailing across the same path as the tragic accident.
The Titanic flew from England to the United States on a long voyage across the Atlantic, but it sank when it collided with an iceberg on April 15, 1912, killing more than 1,500 people, while about 700 survived.
But the new Titanic 2, which is nearing completion in China with advanced technology and modern rescue equipment, is poised to navigate the sunken ship's original route.
The construction of the new vessel, which is very similar to its original version, has resumed recently, after the project underwent material problems that delayed the scheduled flight in 2016.
The Titanic 2, which cost about $ 500 million, was designed to carry almost the same number of people on board the first vessel, 2,400 passengers and crew of 900 others.
"The ship will follow the original flight, and the passengers will be moving from Southampton to New York, but it will also travel the world to inspire people and draw attention to every port they land on," the newspaper Daily Mail quoted Clive Palmer, director of the ship construction company as saying.
There is no information on whether to book historic tickets or the cost of traveling from England to the United States on Titanic 2.
