A US plane disappears off the coast of South Carolina


The United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has lost contact with a small plane since Thursday, off the coast of South Carolina, US media reported Friday.
The Federal Aviation Administration said in a tweet on its Twitter account that the missing Piper B31 Navajo, a two-engine aircraft, according to Fox News reported.

The plane, en route from South Carolina to the Bahamas, disappeared from radar screens at about 11:30 am Thursday, the US Coast Guard said.

The Coast Guard said the search for the plane would continue with one of the rescue vessels, with the aircraft joining the search on Friday morning, in an attempt to determine the disappearance of the plane.

The FAA did not announce the aircraft's data, and the number of passengers on board was not immediately known.
