After being held for two years in Turkey, Rev. Branson arrives in Washington
Andrew Andrew Branson, who has been held in Turkey for nearly two years, arrived at Andrews Air Force Base outside Washington on Saturday, a US official said.
"The plane that was carrying Branson and his wife arrived," Tony Perkins of the American Religious Freedom Committee said on his Twitter account.
Branson is scheduled to meet US President Donald Trump at the White House later Saturday.
The US priest left Turkey on Friday evening aboard a US military plane that took off from Izmir airport to the American base of Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany.
Branson stopped in Germany, where he was received by the US ambassador to Berlin, Richard Grenil, and posted an image on his Twitter account to the priest, who accepted the American flag.
