Barcelona star fined after "shameful act at nightclub"

A German court has fined Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal 800,000 euros for a scene at a Munich nightclub two years ago.
The incident dates back to 2016, when Bayern Munich striker Vidal attacked a man at the club and hit him on the head with a bottle, causing him serious injuries that almost killed him.

According to German press reports, the brother of the Chilean and his wife's father were present in the battle, which ended with the disgraceful behavior of the player and were fined 20,000 and 41,000 euros respectively.

The court sentenced in absentia to the three, none of whom attended the hearings.

This is not the first time Vidal has been involved in a controversial incident. Police have already detained him in Chile after he was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol in the wake of a traffic accident in 2015.

It was during Chile's Copa America at home.

Vidal and his wife were rushed to hospital after minor injuries, while his Ferrari was badly damaged.
