"Snowballs" cause panic in Beirut

Blizzards fell on the Lebanese capital Beirut and various parts of the country due to a rainstorm accompanied by strong winds, resulting in the death of a person and damage to some buildings and cars.
The storm caused by an air-lagoon originating from the Black Sea has caused heavy rains with large-sized cold beads that have been invaded by social networking sites, the central Lebanese news agency said.

A 60-year-old citizen was killed by an electric shock from the storm in the village of Majdal in the Tire district of southern Lebanon.

The fall of ice blocks, which some have likened to shells, has shattered windows and glass windows of some buildings and cars in different parts of the capital.

The strong winds of 80 kilometers led to the fall of some trees, causing traffic on some roads.

The security forces called on drivers to drive cautiously to avoid slippage incidents, with pool pools of water in a number of main roads.

While the storm is expected to continue until noon tomorrow, the Department of Meteorology of the Department of Civil Aviation expected the weather Friday to be cloudy with a significant additional drop in temperature.
