After a year of strange challenge, a Chinese man decided to go to the hospital to take out a metal spoon he had swallowed in front of his friends and was unable to get it out.
The 26-year-old, who had challenged his friends about a year ago, said he could swallow a spoon and take it out of his stomach after tying it to a fine thread.
He swallowed a 20-centimeter metal spoon, failed to remove it, and remained stuck in the esophagus for a full year without hindering him from eating and drinking normally, the Daily Mail reported.
A few days ago, the young man was hit in the chest and felt pain and difficulty breathing. He rushed to a hospital in Xinjiang, where doctors discovered the spoon, which caused inflammation of the esophagus.
The doctors took the spoon out of the binoculars using an oral instrument to pick up the spoon, in a two-hour operation.
