Dramatic moments for Italy to overcome Poland

Cristiano Piragi scored a stoppage-time goal to give Italy a dramatic 1-0 victory over hosts Poland in Group E of the first division of the UEFA.
It was Italy's first win in the tournament and was the first in an official match since coach Roberto Mancini took charge in May.

Poland, who have one point from three games, have secured the last place and fall to the second division when the new version of the tournament begins.

It was a deserved win for Italy, which offered one of their best in recent years and paid twice in the crossbar in the first half.

Italy have four points from three games, two points behind leaders Portugal, who remain the favorites to qualify for the semi-finals.

"We dominated the game and we had to score early and it was not fair that the match ended in a draw without goals," said Mancini, who is building a new team after failing to qualify for the World Cup.

Poland have made six changes to the squad that lost to Portugal while Italy maintained their starting lineup after a 1-1 draw with Ukraine on Wednesday.

The draw was enough to secure Portugal ahead of two games from the end but Italy finally hit the net in the second minute of stoppage time.

Substitute Kevin Lazania hit the ball with a header after a corner to reach Peraji to clinch his first goal in the third game.
