Europa League: Lazio drops Marseille with three

PARIS (Reuters) - Olympique Marseille's hopes of a second-round loss to the Europa League were reduced Thursday after a second loss to Lazio, Italy, in Group H.
Marseille were held to a 2-0 win at home to Lazio, while Lazio lifted their points to six points three points from leaders Eintracht Frankfurt, who won their third win at home to Cyprus's Apollon Limassol 2-0.

Lazio opened the scoring with his Brazilian defender Wallace with a header (10), and then saved the right-hand goalkeeper Marseille, after a left-footed attack by striker Chiro Imobili from within the area (21).

Despite his efforts to adjust, the Mediterranean team stayed behind at the break without real chances, as Lazio was no longer dependent on the apostates.

From a new counter-attack by Lazio in the second half, Ecuadorian Felipe Caycedo doubled the numbers with a ground shot, using a limp pass to Emobili.

Five minutes before the end of the original time, international midfielder Dimitri Piet restored hope for a beautiful free kick 85, but Lazio responded with a superb shot from Montgriet Adam Marocic from the edge of the area.

Three fans of Marseille and a fan of Lazio were injured in pre-match clashes near the old port, AFP learned from local police.
