Fertility of men .. Study reveals the peak period
The largest scientific study of its kind on the fertility of men revealed that fertility in spring and autumn more than in winter and summer, and that the number of sperm in the spring months become much larger than in the rest of the months of the year.
Experts believe that sperm health is associated with the number of hours during the spring months and the fact that they practice various activities, including sports activities, than they do in the cold winter months.
Men tend to drink less in spring and autumn than they do during Christmas and New Year (winter) or when they go on holiday during the summer months, the British Telegraph reported.
According to the study, moderate temperatures during the spring and fall can also help keep sperm more cold, which prevents them from being harmed.
The fact that reproducing sperm in the body takes 3 months, means that experts are still not sure exactly what environmental factors are causing this transformation.
Experts say whether this helps to induce women is still unclear, but the outcome is soon to come.
"In this large study, we found that sperm quality in autumn and spring is better and better than in winter and summer," said Tarani Nazim, lead author of the study, conducted by Mount Sinai Medical College in New York.
"We still need more research to see how these results affect pregnancy success rates," she said. "However, these results should be taken into account and doctors should discuss these seasonal changes with men."
It is noteworthy that the study included the sampling of sperm from about 30 thousand men in 17 years and was compared to the quality of sperm according to the time taken from these samples of the year.
The study found that the total number of active sperm was higher in the spring than at any other time of the year, and that the total number of sperms in the autumn was more.
Dr. Nazim explained that the reason for this may be that autumn and spring are milder in terms of temperatures, and in which people are more active and movement than in winter.
Dr. Nazim called on men to evaluate their habits, behavior and lifestyle during these two seasons, especially with regard to food and sports activities.
