Jefferson announces retirement after 17 years of giving in the NBA
Veteran basketball player Richard Jefferson has announced his retirement after 17 years in the NBA.
The 38-year-old Jefferson confirmed his retirement via a letter posted on Saturday on his official Web page on the social networking site Instagram.
"Last month I had to face two incidents at the same time that changed my life," Jefferson wrote. A retirement decision and the tragic death of Big Rich (his father). The support of my family and friends was tremendous. "
Jefferson played 17 seasons in the NBA, during which he won the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016.
Jefferson has already played for the Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, San Antonio Spurs, Golden State Warriors, Utah Jazz, Dallas Mavericks and Denver Nuggets.
