Leicester confirms owner of Vickay killed by helicopter crash
Leicester City said a helicopter carrying its boss Vekay Srivadhanabraba and four other people crashed outside the King Power stadium.
The five people aboard the plane did not survive, the club said.
"With deep sorrow and heart attack, we confirm that the chairman of the board of directors of Vichai Srivadanabraba was one of the victims who lost their lives in a tragic way on Saturday evening when a helicopter and four others were injured outside the King Power Stadium," the statement said. They were aboard the helicopter - without mentioning the identity of the other four - were killed.
Leicester police said investigations into the helicopter crash outside the Leicester stadium were expected to continue in the coming days.
There were frequent questions about the delay in any details about the helicopter crash, which crashed Saturday evening near the club's "King Power" stadium.
Moments after taking off, the owner's plane crashed into the parking lot and turned into a ball of fire on Saturday after a Premier League match between Leicester and West Ham.
