Senior officers killed by helicopter crash Afghan army


Twenty-five people were killed when an Afghan army helicopter carrying senior officers crashed in the western state of Farah Wednesday.
The helicopter crashed at about 9:40 am (04:40 GMT) shortly after taking off from the mountainous Anar Dara area heading for nearby Herat province due to bad weather, said Nasir Mahdi, spokesman for the governor.

He added that among the passengers, deputy commander of the Western Region Division of Afghanistan, and Chairman of the State Council of Farah.
