Tunisia's Anas Gaber continued her impressive career at the Kremlin Cup, one of the premieres in tennis, after beating eighth-seeded Annette Contavet of Estonia 7-5, 6-1 on Thursday in the quarter-finals.
Jaber scored the best result of her career after beating fellow American Sloan Stevens on Wednesday in the second round and eighth in the world, after the Russian team ousted Ekaterina Makarova in the first round.

"I have nothing to lose, I did not inform the final and the ceremony here in Moscow," said Jaber, 24, after winning.

"I played well today, especially in Group B. The Tunisians are here to support me so I feel like I'm at home."

Gaber, ranked 101st in the world, had difficulty in the first set, before her 21-year-old world champion easily surpassed the second.

Jaber has yet to lose any group in the finals, but she lost two qualifying sets, surpassing Hungary's Fanny Stollar, Britain's Harriet Dart, and Greece's Valentini Gramaticopoulou.

In the semi-finals, Gaber will meet veteran Russian Vera Zvonareva and Fifth-seeded Anastasia Sevastova.

Elsewhere in the quarterfinals, Alexandra Saskinovic, Belarus, bt Johanna Conta, Russia, and Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, and compatriot Daria Cassatkina, sixth seed.
