Turkish police reveal the reason for the shooting of "suspicious jars"

Turkish police uncovered the reason for the shooting of a tractor driver in the capital Ankara, wounding the 45-year-old man in the foot and arrest, according to Turkish media reported on Wednesday.
Turkish police opened fire on the driver of "suspicious jars" after refusing to stop and break a number of cars in central Ankara on Tuesday, the Turkish daily Hurriyet reported.

The police explained that the man was planning to hold a demonstration outside the Israeli embassy, and the tractor was eventually stopped in a street about two kilometers from the Israeli embassy.

Ankara's governor's office said the man had been undergoing psychiatric treatment since 2007, adding that the incident was "not motivated by terrorism and no evidence has been found to constitute a crime."

According to preliminary reports, six cars were damaged in the Baybarsari district, police said.

Police guarding the Turkish Parliament building fired warning shots into the air to stop the progress of the tractor on Ataturk Street, lined with government buildings and embassies.

However, the driver did not get into the police and continued on his way, smashing more than one car on either side of the road before they could control him by shooting at his foot.
