Two peacekeepers killed in Mali

Two UN peacekeepers have been killed in two attacks on two UN bases in Mali.
The UN mission in Mali said on Monday that armed fighters with rocket-propelled grenades and machineguns traveling in pickup trucks attacked a peacekeeping force base in Bir in the northern Timbuktu region.

The mission added that a few hours after the first attack, fighters launched an attack on a UN base using improvised explosive devices near the town of Mopti, central Mali, indicating that the two attacks killed two UN peacekeepers and wounded others.
