Two years after the Trump scandal, the announcer breaks the silence
In 2016, just a few weeks before the US presidential election, a tape of the then-incumbent president, Donald Trump, boasted of his ability to kiss women and not their bodies against their will.
Immediately after the registration leak, dating back to 2005 when Trump was involved in a reality television program, his campaign issued an apology for the recording, which reportedly contained obscene words against women.
But many details of the event were ambiguous, until the famous American broadcaster, Billy Bush, on Sunday, via his official account at the INGEST site, revealed the details.
In the summer of 2016, Bush joined NBC's "Today" program, but was expelled following the October 2006 listing of the Washington Post.
"Two years ago, my regular life turned into chaos at a dramatic moment," Bush wrote at the INGEST. "I was held accountable because of the leak, but the president and my organization were not held accountable for what they did."
He added that the past two years were a "building personality," pointing to the conflicting feelings during which he was subjected to expulsion such as tantrums, anxiety and feelings of betrayal, and others.
But he concluded that he was not an exceptional person, as terrible things could happen to anyone at any moment.
He noted a positive side in the fact that this experience strengthened his character, and expressed his thanks to all those who stood by him in this crisis.
The importance of the announcer's statement
Trump and Billy Bush were on a bus while going to filming the reality TV show "The Apprentice," and the then president was a real estate tycoon in New York City.
The significance of the announcer's statement stems from a confirmation of the authenticity of the tape, whose Trump has recently questioned his health, and said in an interview that he will sue NBC for the leaked registration.
In earlier statements, the famous American broadcaster said he felt "embarrassed and foolish" about the leaked record.
Trump and Billy Bush, the cousin of the Republican presidential nominee, George Bush, were heard in the tape.
"I still remember that we (he and Trump) were laughing hysterically (over obscene words)," he said.
