A historic defeat for Liverpool against Red Star

Red Star won a historic 2-0 victory over Liverpool in Group C of the fourth round of the Champions League to take revenge on him after losing 4-0.
The win is the first for a Serbian club in the Champions League since the new system was adopted in 1992-93 (excluding qualifying). The Serbian teams had 15 matches in the group stage, losing 4 and losing 11.

Red Star was crowned champion of the continent in 1991 when he was a member of the elite of the former Yugoslavia, most notably Robert Brozinsky, Senisa Mihailovic and Diane Savisevic.

The home side managed to open the scoring when Liverpool keeper Alison sent a dangerous shot by El Fardo Ben out of the area to a corner kick by Marco Marin and Milan Pavkov beat Dutchman Virgil Van Dyke to put it in the net.

Liverpool did not get out of the shock until he found himself behind two goals with a powerful shot from Pavkov himself from 25 meters unable to address Allison 29.

Liverpool's pressure at the start of the second half as the Red Star dropped, but his attacks were shy and the highlight of a pass from Robertson hit a Red Star defender down on the crossbar.

Salah had two chances to narrow the gap in just a few seconds. Red goalkeeper Milan Borian faced his first attempt (70) and turned a corner into the ball.

The Serbian goalkeeper stopped the game without stopping Salah for the first time, when he blocked the latter's attempt from close range.
