A lightning bolt hit their boat and miraculously escaped death

Nine British sailors survived an accidental death after a thunderstorm hit a boat they were traveling at sea in Thailand a few days ago, according to the British newspaper The Times.
The nine Britons were on a sailing trip to the famous tourist island of Phuket last Saturday, when high winds and high waves drove the boat into the heart of the boat, enabling its occupants to hide underneath.

A few moments later a tropical storm struck the coast, causing the boat to be destroyed by lightning, which caught fire quickly.

Thai fishermen rescued the nine Britons, aged between 59 and 68, and a coastguard team was dispatched to help evacuate them. None were hurt.

The group arrived in Phuket Island last Friday, according to Thai media, and sailed from the island's northern shore.

Police opened an investigation into the incident and heard the owner of the boat and some witnesses.
