A "curfew" on dogs during the day in a Chinese city

A city in southwest China banned dogs on the streets during the day and also banned dogs from parks, shopping malls, sports facilities and other public places.
The decision, issued by the Wenshan City Administration in Yunnan Province on October 29, was described as the most restrictive in a country where dog ownership has always been severely restricted.

Under the rule of Mao's founder, Mao Zedong, the acquisition of dogs was seen as a sign of the bourgeoisie, but it reappeared over the past decades after the Chinese became richer.

However, many cities remain adhering to the rules of restricting the areas where dogs can be found. The capital city of Beijing prohibits the presence of large dogs in the city center.

However, Wenshan's decision seems to go further, stating that dogs should stay outside only before 7 am and after 10 pm.

It also states that the dog leash should not exceed one meter and be accompanied by an adult.
