A Ugandan activist was "insulted" by the president and his mother

A Ugandan court on Wednesday sentenced an activist to prison again after being accused of publishing "offensive comments" about President Yoweri Museveni and his late mother on her Facebook account.
"Dr. (Stella) Nianzi was brought before the court today after spending five days in a cell and was charged with disturbing peace and quiet, or the right of President Museveni and his late mother to privacy," Agence France-Presse quoted an activist's lawyer as saying.

Nianzi was sent back to prison because the judge who presides over the hearing has no jurisdiction over the case, according to Semakadi, who added, "We are working to secure her release."

The charges against Nianzi are harassment of the Siberian network and hostile communications. The academy has made a name for itself through its sharp and offensive comments about the president who has ruled Uganda for 31 years.
