Former Bayern Munich midfielder Franck Ribery entered into a row with Patrick Gue, a correspondent for the country's sports channel "BN Sports", and suffered several slaps on Saturday after his team lost 2-2 to Borussia Dortmund.
"Frank Ribery told us of a fight with his compatriot Frank Gueau, whom he has known for several years," Bayern Munich's sports director said in a statement on Monday.
"We have agreed with Patrick Gio since Saturday night to hold a meeting to discuss how to solve the problem," Mr. Gue said, adding that it was also in his interest.
The incident, according to Bild's testimony, took place on the Bavarian side bus one hour after the end of the game, after which Bayern Munich dropped to fifth in the standings seven points behind Dortmund.
According to witnesses, Ribery slapped Gio on the face three times before pushing him from his chest.
Bild, without being able to prove it, assumed that the 35-year-old's anger was due to comments he had made during the game.
Ribery's wife, Wahiba, sent a letter to him via the Ingram application, referring to Gio's comments.
