Alert in Paris in preparation for the protests of "yellow jackets"

PARIS (Reuters) - The French capital of Paris is on a state of alert because of the "yellow jackets" protests, in which tens of thousands of people are expected to participate, in conjunction with a second demonstration against sexual violence and a rugby match.
The site "Bfmtv" French traffic will be banned in the areas of "Champs Elysees" and "La Concoged", starting at six in the morning, to avoid any problems or obstruction of walking.

The source pointed out that Saturday will be characterized by protests, "yellow jackets," to be launched after mid-day women's protests against sexual assault, was invited to use the #NousToutes (we are all), and then a game in rugby.

He added that the security authorities and the government is seeking to secure all these events to pass without any break-ins or problems, where it relied on about 3 thousand security men to contain the anger of demonstrators in the French capital.

Tens of thousands are expected to protest the rising fuel costs and economic policies of President Emmanuel Macaron at the start of the second week of "Yellow Jackets" protests, which led to widespread unrest.

In the early hours of Saturday morning, thousands of police were deployed throughout the capital, especially in the areas frequented by tourists, to avoid any clashes.

The Secretary-General of the Union of Alternative Police, Denis Jacob, told Reuters that it is expected to protest about 30 thousand people in Paris alone.

"We know there are infiltrators from the far right and the extreme left, you can also expect gangs from the suburbs."

For more than a week, demonstrators wearing yellow jackets, which all motorists in France have to carry in their cars, have blocked freeways across the country with burnt barriers and convoys of slow-moving trucks, hampering access to fuel depots, shopping malls and some factories.

Protesters oppose taxes imposed by Macron last year on diesel and gasoline to encourage people to move to more environmentally friendly transportation. In addition to the tax, the government offered incentives to buy electric or eco-friendly vehicles.
