"6 and a half minutes of horror" .. Look forward to the landing of a new probe on Mars

NASA scientists are holding their breaths while the probe is expected to land on Mars next Monday in a six-and-a-half-minute process to begin exploring the sub-planet and listening to its vibrations.
The spacecraft will enter the Martian atmosphere at 19:47 GMT, where it will take six and a half minutes to land on the surface, and scientists will be waiting for it to fall into place.

The Insight will make its first trip to explore the deep interior of Mars, one of its arms will drill down the surface, while others will listen to what is going on inside, the Times reported on Saturday.

The probe will be the first US spacecraft to land on Mars since the arrival of the six-year-old explorer Keriocyti and the first dedicated probe to probe beneath the surface of Mars.

NASA will follow a method that has been tested before and has been successful in sending its mechanical probe to the surface of the Red Planet.

The engines will slow down from the final landing, and the spacecraft will emerge on its solid legs, in a descent similar to that of previous successful missions.

One arm will try to drill 16 feet deep, while the other will listen to earthquakes.
