Arsenal continue to shine and deny Liverpool an important win
Alexander Lakazit scored a late goal to give Arsenal a 1-1 draw with Liverpool to deny the visitors the lead in the Premier League if Manchester City win or draw on Sunday.
After a first-half equalizer, Liverpool opened the scoring in the 61st minute, when Arsenal keeper Bernd Lenno kept the cross of the cross-legged Sadio Mani to reach James Milner who hit the ball.
Milner was lucky to complete the game after a head-to-head collision with his colleague Joe Gomez, and needed a long period of treatment.
Arsenal, who extended their unbeaten record to 14 games in all competitions, attacked fiercely in search of a draw and it came to fruition when Lazazit hit the net in the 82nd minute.
The French striker put the ball in the left to keep it out of the reach of goalkeeper Alison, before paying off nicely in the far corner of the Brazilian goal.
The draw drew Liverpool to the top of the league, one point ahead of Manchester City, who host Southampton on Sunday.
