Landing with his helicopter to buy a meal from "KFC"
In a curious and strange situation, a South African police officer, hungry, forced his helicopter to land in the parking lot to order a lunch from a fast-food restaurant.
The helicopter commander landed outside a shopping mall to visit the KFC fast food restaurant east of Cape Town, South Africa.
According to the Daily Mail, the officer stepped out of his helicopter and walked 100 feet to get his meal from the restaurant before flying again.
Images of the incident surfaced on social networking sites, prompting police to open an investigation into the controversial landing with the officer, describing it as an "internal matter," while the name, origin and destination of the pilot were not disclosed.
Police spokesman Brigadier Vishnu Naidu told local media that the helicopter was patrolling areas east of Cape Town, without giving further details.
South Africa witnessed a similar incident in 2017, when police commissioner, Resimati Chivore, issued news headlines when he used a helicopter to travel 2.5 miles to order a Wimpy breakfast.
