"Ancient times" have awakened to wander through a square of Toulouse in southwestern France and dazzle the thousands who gathered to watch it.
A giant spider named Ariane is the latest creation of the French theater group known as La Machene, based in Nantes.
The length of the spider, which took about two years to 13 meters, and can reach the length of his arms to 20 meters and weighs 38 tons. The machines control dozens of technicians and move every part of the body of the object with extreme precision.
The mechanical display, which was launched on Friday and named "Temple Guard", includes large and medium objects of engineers, artists, designers and technicians and will continue until Sunday.
