Morocco begins construction of tallest tower in Africa
On Thursday evening, King Mohammed VI of Morocco, on the right bank of the Abu Berqraq River (between the cities of Salé and Rabat), inaugurated the official launch of the construction of the tallest tower in Africa.
Since March 9, 2016, preliminary multidimensional studies of the project (geological, technical, architectural and environmental) have been initiated, MAP said, adding that the contractors in charge of the completion of the project are the Belgian contracting company Bixex and the Chinese pioneer CRC And the Moroccan construction company TGCC.
The Mohammed VI Tower will be built at a height of 250 meters (55 floors) by the Moroccan Bank for Foreign Trade (BMG), with an expected budget of nearly AED 4 billion.
The Chairman of Bizex Group, Johan Pierlundt, expressed the pride of his group to participate in the completion of this project and its serious commitment to the project in the best of circumstances.
Highlighting the international experience of Bizex in this area, including the Burj Khalifa building in Dubai, the world's tallest building, Pierreland stressed that his group is keen to listen to its customers and find solutions, as well as to respect the most stringent safety standards , Quality and environment, and fulfill their obligations.
The Mohammed VI Tower will incorporate environmentally friendly building practices, new generation technologies (solar photovoltaic panels, photovoltaic panels and natural ventilation), enabling better energy efficiency, in line with Morocco's commitment to sustainable development.
The tower's floors will include a number of offices, a residential and hotel segment, while the last four floors will have a observatory.
