Shooting at a person who attacked a police station in Jakarta

The officer shot at a person carrying a white weapon, tried to attack a police station in the Indonesian capital Jakarta.
Jakarta police spokesman Argo Yoono said the man attacked officers inside the building, smashing a glass door.

One of the officers was slightly injured in the arm, while the other shot by the attacker, forcing him to drop the weapon, according to the Associated Press.

Yoono said the 31-year-old man, named Rohandi, arrived at the police station in northern Jakarta on a motorcycle after midnight and tried to attack at least six officers with white weapons.

He said the attacker's house had been searched, adding that anti-terrorism police were investigating the attack.

In May, after two weeks of suicide bombings that used children as weapons, Indonesia's parliament unanimously approved a tougher anti-terrorism law.

Suicide bombings in churches and the Surabaya police station killed 26 people.

The main culprit was the commander of the Surabaya cell, which in turn belonged to an Indonesian militant network, who had declared loyalty to the militant group.
