The flames are devouring their "paradise." Hollywood stars escape to save their lives

Forest fires have forced a number of celebrities to flee their luxury homes in California's Malibu and Calabasas, such as Barbara Streisand, Tom Hanks and Britney Spears, who look for the ocean and keep away from hype.
Reality TV star Kim Kardashian and pop star Lady Gaga were among the thousands who fled their homes in the fire.

Kardashian vacated her home and her husband, Kanye West, last Thursday and wrote on Twitter on Friday, saying "I learned that the fire had reached our house ... but it was better contained now and stopped."

The Malibu authorities on Friday issued mandatory instructions to evacuate the 12,000-strong city, which stretches over 43.5 kilometers on the Pacific coast of southern California to the mountains of Santa Monica, in full with a fire at night.

Malibu's account on Twitter said the fire was out of control.

Cher, who said she has been living in Malibu since 1972, wrote on Twitter that the forest fire approached her home, but she was not there.

I can not bear the idea that there will not be Malibu, "Cher was quoted as saying by Reuters news agency.

Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro said on Twitter that he had abandoned his house, Blake House, which houses a collection of horror and fantasy films.

"Maybe Blake House and the group are in danger, but the grace of life is the rest," wrote Del Toro, director of the Oscar-winning film The Sheep of Water.

Malibu also has dozens of film locations, including Western Town in Paramount Ranch, where the science fiction series "West World" was filmed, where authorities said via Twitter that the fire destroyed the site.

"I took my children, my dog, my computer, my shoes and the Duckmartins," said Elissa Milano, one of the leading activists in the Mito movement against sexual harassment, who asked for help to get her five horses out of the area.
