Barcelona police announced Wednesday they had evacuated two trains at the main train station and were looking for explosives after a suspicious bag was found.
A spokeswoman for the Catalan police said a team of bomb experts was present Wednesday morning at the station "Sants" high-speed rail in central Barcelona.
It said the station's security department had seized a bag suspected of carrying a bomb at 8 am on Wednesday (0700 GMT).
The Associated Press quoted the spokeswoman as saying that police had followed a security protocol in dealing with the incident.
