The state security authorities are dealing with a shooting incident at a local pub in the Thousand Oaks area, the Ventura County police commissioner said.
"Please stay away from the area, an ongoing security incident, reports of a number of casualties, a number of ambulances are called up, and information is still coming," the Fire Department said in a tweet on Twitter.
The Thousand Oaks area is 40 miles (64 km) from downtown Los Angeles.
