The US authorities have identified the killer of 12 people in a shooting attack on a bar in the Thousand Oaks area of California, saying he was named Ian Long, 28.
Long served in the Marine Corps between August 2008 and March 2013 according to US Department of Defense information and served in Afghanistan from November and June 2011.

According to residents in Long's neighborhood, the latter lived with his mother, who repeatedly expressed concern about what her son might do, pointing out that the mother "lived in fear" and did not know what she could do to help him.
